Postponement

Since last month when Brittany and I proposed the study and had it listed as a "blue square" on the schedule, we've been trying to get a head count of how many people were expecting to attend. Our apartment isn't particularly large, so hosting more than ten or twelve people at any given time could be difficult. Additionally, we needed to have an idea of how many snacks to prepare. As of yesterday our confirmations looked something like this:

YES: 1
MAYBE: 1
NO: Myriads

Given the fact that one of our goals in starting this study was to foster a sense of community among our peers at College Park, and given that the subject matter I was planning to present is really looking like it will take two or three months to get though; it's probably better if we push the study back to a date when more people can attend. I suppose this sort of thing happens. I'll be making the the announcement tonight at church.

I'm on the schedule as speaker for the 3:oo P.M. service Sunday, January 18, 2009. So the upside (i.e. silver lining) to this development is that it has prompted me to scrap my previous lesson plans and present a "sermonized" version of the "Romans in Reverse" study.
